“African Restaurant Week emerges from the culture of taste and seeks to expose both Africans in the Diaspora and those curious about exotic foods to the intricacies of African cuisine; African Restaurant Week is a movement, creating cultural dialogues that develop more understanding and bridge the social polarities of a diverse society like New York”

New York African Restaurant Week (“NYARW”), taking place October 4 – 20th 2019 , is a premier citywide food festival that celebrates the best in African cuisine and culture. Since launching our first New York African Restaurant Week in 2013 with a handful of restaurants and increasing enthusiasm, we have grown into a 2-week thrilling celebration, with over 25 participating restaurants in Manhattan.Brooklyn, Bronx and Queens offering discounted prix-fixe traditional African/African inspired menus.

In celebration of our 7th anniversary, NYARW 2019 will be a landmark citywide urban festival event. Over 20 events and memorable gastronomical experiences. A mega-food festival event , cooking classes/parties, chef-hosted dinners events and various experiences that showcase the intersection of food , art, culture, entrepreneurship, and social impact. A world-class partnership line-up.

ARW is a celebration of African cuisine, restaurants, and chefs, it’s a promotion of diverse voices in the global culinary movement – both celebrity and emerging, it’s a commitment to community development and social impact, and we’re inviting all of NYC to be a part of that.
