African Restaurant Week brings together thousands and beyond on a “gastroafrique” culinary and cultural odyssey. (Food, Culture, Community) – an opportunity to come together to celebrate the food and culture of Africa/Diaspora and support the various local restaurants/small businesses.

New Jersey African Restaurant Week August 17 – 27 

Target Audience – culture enthusiasts, foodies, world travelers, social entrepreneurs, community activists

The week includes:

Restaurant  – Special reduced price menus at participating restaurants (including Africa, African-American, Caribbean restaurants, restaurants selling cuisine by people of African descent). Click here

Food and Music festival on August 26 & 27 – a 2-day festival bringing the community together. Chefs, caterers, local creators, vendors. A family friendly event celebrating community, culture and local businesses.

Cooking Classes – During the week we host virtual and in-person cooking classes to highlight various people working in the culinary field. Click here

Chef-Hosted Dinners (Odyssey Across Africa) – We work with chefs and various organizations to host dinners – part of proceeds of dinner to benefit local organization. Click here

We will be utilizing a variety of marketing and publicity tactics to promote the festival, including:

  • Community Outreach: We would reach out to local community organizations and schools to promote the festival and offer discounted ticket packages.

  • We would reach out to local and national media outlets to generate coverage for the festival in newspapers, magazines, and on television and radio.
